CLOTHING & EQUIPMENT
Before buying equipment for young children, consider renting the first time out. This will allow them to try things on & ensure proper sizing. You can also check out ski swaps and ski stores that sell second hand.
Invest in goggles. They keep the sun, wind, and snow out of your eyes!
Most manufacturers no longer have the drawstrings on children's coats, as they can get caught on equipment and pose as strangulation risks. Check to ensure that these have been removed.

Give yourself extra time to travel in the winter, especially during the holidays. Always be prepared for road and weather conditions before you set out on your way. Visit the National Weather Service website www.nws.noaa.gov for updates and forecasts.
A LITTLE EXTRA
When traveling during the holidays we sometimes encounter unavoidable situations: flight delays, long lines, and tempers. To help alleviate the stress of it all, pack a good book or a few magazines along with some snacks. Make special activity bags for children and fill them with things you know they'll enjoy.
